I engage in a daily creative practice using a process called quick-collage. These are for my own creative pleasure and are not for sale. Some of these collages have made their way into my posts.
For years I painted in oil, fascinated by light and shadow, and the thin translucent glazes used primarily by early Dutch painters from Jan Van Eyck to Vermeer to Rembrandt. When we originally came to this area to scout for a place to live, we took a side trip to the Abbey of Thoronet. We got a late start and made many stops. I was afraid that we’d get there after opening hours. We finally arrived in the late afternoon on a winter day to find the sun casting very long shadows through the many arches of the abbey. Turned out, our timing was perfect. I was in heaven as I happily took many photos that inspired my Sanctuary Series. To see more paintings and a few weavings, click here.
